How a dungeon is made
When a rift opens, the game builds its dungeon: a theme (monsters, guardian, hazard), the rooms (combat, event, sanctuary, side rooms, secret chambers), possibly an event and a modifier.
Themes
| Theme | Guardian | Hazard |
|---|---|---|
| Eclipse Citadel | Eclipse Monarch | Curse |
| Iron Fortress | Cinder Colossus | Lava |
| Ruined Temple | Hollow Sovereign | Curse |
| The Shattered Threshold | Rift Colossus | Curse |
| The Haunted Castle | Wraith Lich | Curse |
| Storm Peak | Storm Titan | Frost |
| Clockwork Vault | Grand Mechanist | Lava |
| Sunken Abyss | Drowned King | Frost |
| Frozen Cavern | Frost Matriarch | Frost |
| Drowned Marsh | Rotwood Behemoth | Toxic |
| Crimson Cathedral | Scarlet Archon | Curse |
Events
About 30% of the dungeons get an event (and 20% of them a second one). See Dungeon events.
Modifiers of red rifts
A modifier changes the rules of the run in exchange for more XP and shards: see Rift modifiers.
